Field Trip: Tadulako University Students Visit FTP UGM

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), received an academic visit from students of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tadulako, on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Meeting Room 384, FTP UGM. The field trip aimed to give students insight into the faculty’s profile, its learning system, and the laboratory facilities available at FTP UGM to support education and research in agricultural technology.

The group of students from Universitas Tadulako was received by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, FTP UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yudi Pranoto, S.T.P., M.P., who gave a presentation on the profile of FTP UGM. During the session, Prof. Yudi introduced the faculty’s three departments, its educational programs, academic activities, and the various opportunities available for student development throughout their studies at the faculty.

Following the presentation, participants continued the visit with a tour of the Process Engineering Laboratory. During the visit, Wahyu Prasetya, S.T.P., Technician of the Process Engineering Laboratory, introduced the laboratory’s function and explained the various equipment used in practicum sessions and research. Participants also gained an overview of how process technology is applied in agricultural product processing.

The field trip then continued to the Smart Agriculture Research Center (SmartAgri). During this session, students from Universitas Tadulako were introduced to various smart agricultural technology innovations developed by FTP UGM. The laboratory tour was accompanied by Zalfa Nabila Khoirunisa, S.T.P., who explained the various laboratory facilities to the participants.

The entire series of activities was hosted by Diva Humaira Nibras, S.I.P., as master of ceremonies. Through this visit, students from Universitas Tadulako are expected to gain an overview of the education system, laboratory facilities, and research development at FTP UGM, which can serve as a reference to support the learning process at their home university.

This activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the exchange of knowledge and academic experience between higher-education institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the strengthening of networks and collaboration among universities.
